Foot Massage

If you have ever taken off your shoes and rubbed the achiness out of your feet after a long day at work, you are already aware of the benefits of foot massage. There are many benefits to foot reflexology, such as
* Improving circulation
* Relieving stress
* Providing a sense of general well-being
The techniques of this massage treatment tend to normalize the body's response to stress. The therapist applies pressure to specific reflex points in the body. Like all massage treatments, they work best when you receive them on a regular basis.

The basis of massaging the feet is that there are points in the feet that affect every organ in the body. When the therapist applies pressure to these points, it relieves the tension in the corresponding part of the body, returning the body to its normal healthy state.

During a session, which lasts about 45-60 minutes, the therapist will clean the feet and warm them. He/She will then work one foot at a time, applying pressure to the same points on each foot. It is very similar to walking on pebbles, although it is not as painful.

You don't have to visit a massage therapist to get a foot massage. There are many devices available on the market for you to use at home and they are not expensive. One particular model uses hot water to massage your feet as you roll them back and forth over a rough surface. You can simple fill it with water and sit back watching TV as your feet and body get the relief you need.
